The Authoritarian Political Systems Group (APSG) brings together researchers studying authoritarian politics across the globe.
The Group’s mission is to advance academic research on authoritarian regimes while developing an international community of scholars working on these topic. We place particular emphasis on supporting early-career researchers and on connecting researchers working on different aspects of autocracies and with different regional concentrations.
At the heart of our group is our bi-weekly workshop featuring early-career researchers presenting their ongoing work on authoritarian politics. In addition, we also organize a yearly in-person Authoritarian Politics Conference, as well as other panels and social events at international conferences. We also host a mailing list in which we share updates on our activities.
All team members volunteer their time and work to APSG as it is a non for profit organization.
